Reader for Gmail™ reads your Gmail messages to you out loud, through your headphones or through the built-in speaker. It uses a familiar audio playback interface for easily choosing the message(s) you want to hear. You can listen to all of your messages, in much the same way that you might listen to a music album. This version (only available on iOS 10 and up) uses Appless latest voice recognition technology, the same technology used by Siri™ to give you the option of navigating through your Gmail messages using voice commands such as "next", "skip", "previous", "back", "pause", "continue", "play", "start", "stop", "download", "delete", and "help". When active, the voice command feature is available so long as the app is in the foreground and maintains a connection to the Internet. Headphones are recommended for use with voice commands in order to avoid unwanted audio feedback during the reading of a message.

Audio playback can run in the background, making this app ideal for getting caught up on your Gmail messages if you are on the road, out for a walk, or racing through a busy airport.

Unlike some other email apps that have audio capability, Reader for Gmail does some filtering of text prior to performing the audio playback function so that long web addresses, strings of long numbers, formatting codes, etc. are generally avoided, making for a more natural listening experience.

It also uses the Gmail API by Google, which provides you with a super-fast, super-reliable method of fetching your email, and also now makes it possible to search for emails. So if you need to listen to that epic 10-page email that your boss sent to you a few months ago, just search for some key terms to find it, then click on the message to start listening!

If you experience problems logging in with your Gmail account, please be sure that the username and password that you are using are correct. After entering your username and password, you will be asked to allow Reader+ for Gmail to access your account. On phones with limited screen space, you may need to scroll done to see the "Accept" button at the bottom of the window.

Reader for Gmail uses authentication software from Google and does not store or disseminate your Gmail password to anyone. Your Gmail account information is only used for retrieving your email messages so that Reader for Gmail can read them aloud to you. None of your email messages are copied or moved from your device to other locations, nor are they disseminated to anyone else.
